Artist: Maurizio Camatta

Born in Polla in 1966 he grew up and trained in the countryside of Conegliano (TV) where he still resides. At a very young age he began to experiment with various artistic techniques, including fresco, following the teachings of Antonio Pizzolon .

In the 90s he was a student of Thomas Langhe at the Art Academy of Bad Reichenhall, in Bavaria, an experience that brought him closer to the conception of painting as a still image of a spasmodic dance.

He has participated in many international exhibitions, exhibiting, among other cities, in London, New York, Lima, Seoul and St. Petersburg, and with Itaca Investimenti d'Arte he was selected by the 2014 Asolo Biennial Art Prize to be part of the delegation that exhibited at the Cheongju International Craft Biennale in South Korea the following year.

"Finding yourself in front of Maurizio Camatta's work means being attracted inside it, to immerse yourself in a chromatic magma which, moved by an intimate dynamic push, seems to abandon the plane of the support to establish a close relationship with the cosmic dimension of a primal chaos."
